Sensitive bladder

Being a new mum

A weakened pelvic floor, which is common after pregnancy, can result in stress incontinence – when a little urine escapes on coughing, sneezing, laughing or otherwise exerting yourself. According to a Mumsnet survey, 35% of women experience leaks/incontinence after pregnancy (Mumsnet.co.uk survey of 1,530 respondents).

  • Do pelvic floor exercises every day
  • Try relaxation techniques
  • Drink lots of water (filtered tap water is best)
